New Delhi: Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra was detained by Delhi Police during a protest outside Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s office, triggering political reactions after visuals showed her being carried away by police personnel while shouting slogans.

Protest Over Central Government Actions

Mahua Moitra was protesting outside the office of the Union Home Minister, alleging misuse of central agencies and raising issues related to democratic rights and federalism. During the protest, she was seen shouting “shame, shame” as police personnel lifted and carried her away, a scene that quickly went viral on social media.

Detention Sparks Political Reaction

The TMC MP’s detention has drawn sharp criticism from opposition parties, who accused the central government of suppressing dissent and targeting opposition voices. Supporters of Moitra described the police action as excessive, while the authorities maintained that the detention was carried out to maintain law and order in a high-security zone.
