Ranchi, Jan 19: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday instructed the Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) of various districts that illegal mining should not take place under any circumstances, whether it is of coal, sand or stone and should be ensured by the SPs of all the districts.
In the review meeting, the Chief Minister directed the police officers and policemen to work with more sensitivity towards the common people. He also directed for speedy execution of cases pending under the ST/SC Atrocities Prevention Act and cases related to cyber fraud.
He added that the policemen should coordinate with the general public and solve their problems.
Moreover, he directed the officers to ensure that the benefits of all the schemes run by the state government reach the common man at all costs.
“Speed up the works of those schemes for which the foundation stone has been laid. Move ahead with the aim that such schemes should be inaugurated on time,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is reviewing the schemes by visiting various districts and there will be further reviews.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister directed the departmental secretaries to prepare a schedule and go to the districts and review the ongoing schemes. If necessary, departmental secretaries should also go to the districts and conduct surprise inspections. The Chief Secretary should also continue to review the public utility schemes at his level. He added said that this is the year of implementation.
“We all need to work on the ground reality. People do not get benefits by doing data entry in the portal, but it is necessary to keep an eye on the work being done at the ground level. Many schemes look like something else on the portal but the ground reality tells something else. It is the responsibility of the government to generate revenue. Speed up all the work related to revenue generation,” the CM stated.
He further added that it is the responsibility of the Deputy Commissioners to the smooth implementation of the schemes in the districts.
“There is a need to speed up the work of MNREGA, Chief Minister Drought Relief Scheme, scholarship distribution etc. The Deputy Commissioners of the districts should continuously review all these works and keep giving a sense of duty to the nodal officers,” he said.
He also instructed the officers that by February 15, 2023, the amount should be paid to the deprived eligible beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Drought Relief Scheme.
He directed that an additional amount of Rs 250 crore should be made available soon from the Jharkhand Contingency Fund (JCF) under the Chief Minister’s Drought Relief Scheme.
Moreover, he added that on December 29, 2022, a large number of eligible beneficiary farmer families covered under the Chief Minister Drought Relief Scheme have been paid, but ensure that the drought relief amount is paid to the deprived farmer families as soon as possible.
The Chief Minister also directed for speedy execution of cases pending under the ST/SC Atrocities Prevention Act and cases related to cyber fraud. He said that the policemen should coordinate with the general public and solve their problems.
“Policemen of the state should ensure strong maintenance of law and order in the state by being soft-spoken along with efficient behaviour. The Chief Minister said that the people who reached the police stations with problems and complaints should be treated with intimacy. Take full care that they do not face any problems because of you. Do not introduce indiscipline with them in any way,” he said.
