Kolkata, Feb 2: The much-hyped organisational polls of the Trinamool Congress took place in the iconic Netaji Indoor Stadium on Wednesday, in the midst of simmering differences between its generation next leaders and a section of the old guard. The party MPs, MLAs, Councillors, and district leaders had elected their Chairperson, All India President, and members of the National Executive Committee.
Mamata Banerjee was re-elected as the Trinamool Congress chairperson in party’s organisational elections in Kolkata.

All other political parties, except the BJP, have been invited to observe the election process.
The election’s Returning Officer, Partha Chatterjee, stated that the party had invited leaders from other political parties to observe the election process. Trinamool leaders from various states have been invited to the poll, including Tripura, Goa, Punjab, Haryana, and Meghalaya.
