Ranchi: A man named Suman Saurabh has been arrested for using abusive and derogatory language against Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, MLA Kalpana Soren, and Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Gupta on social media.
The arrest was made on Thursday afternoon from Morabadi Ground in Ranchi by a police team led by Kotwali DSP Prakash Soy and Sadar DSP.
Following his arrest, Ranchi police handed over the accused to Ramgarh police since the case was originally registered in Ramgarh.
Police officials said that Suman Saurabh made indecent and objectionable posts targeting the CM, his wife (and MLA) Kalpana Soren, and DGP Anurag Gupta. After receiving complaints regarding these social media posts, police promptly initiated an investigation and took action.
Since the FIR was lodged in Ramgarh, the accused has been transferred to the jurisdiction of the concerned police station for further legal proceedings.
