Man from Singhbhum killed in building collapse incident in Qatar

Jamshedpur, March 28: A 27-year-old man, who was a resident of Kiriburu in West Singhbhum, was killed in a building collapse incident at Doha in Qatar.

The victim identified as Arif Aziz was one of the four persons killed as a four-storeyed building in which they were staying collapsed on March 22.

Of those killed, two were from Kerala, one from Srilankai and the one from Kiriburu. One of the two victims from Kerala included popular singer Mohammed Faizal.

Arif’s elder brother Tarique Aziz resides at Azadnagar in Mango. The victim’s bodybag was brought by a flight from Doha to New Delhi. From New Delhi, the body was air-lifted to Calcutta airport and from Calcutta airport it was carried in an ambulance to Jamshedpur on Tuesday.

Arif was laid to rest at a burial ground at Sakchi following the necessary ritual.

While talking to the media, Tarique Aziz said initially, Arif would work in the Qatar Railway, but later he had joined an MNC.

The victim is survived by a one-year-old baby and his widow.
