MANOJ SINHA

Ramgarh, June 17: Dinesh Kumar Mahto, a young man who drowned in the Ganga River after a boat capsized in Patna, returned to his village Katia in Paratu block in Ramgarh district after 28 years.

A wave of happiness ran among the family members as well as the villagers after seeing Dinesh alive and healthy.

In 1994, Dinesh had gone to Patna with the people of his village to participate in a rally organized. Everyone was going from one end of Ganga to the other on a boat when suddenly the boat on which Dinesh was, overturned.

All the other people on the boat swam out but Dinesh alias Ahana could not be traced. Local fishermen and boaters-divers were resorted to but he could not be found.

After 28 years, now Dinesh has returned to his village.

Dinesh narrates his story to villagers via songs

“Dinesh has become a Yogi. His parents are no more but he is recognizing his family. Panchayat head Kishore Kumar Mahto also met Dinesh and inquired about his well-being,” the villagers said while expressing their happiness.

They also informed that Dinesh narrates the incident that happened to him through songs. The villagers want him to stay in the village but Dinesh wants to go back to his Gurukul.
