Koderma, May 5: A 55-year-old man who used to play dhol (drum) in wedding ceremonies was today trampled to death by a wild elephant. The deceased was identified as Lakhan Das, a resident of Vrinda village under Birni police station of the neighbouring Giridih district.
A police official said Das was going back to his village carrying the ‘dhol’ when the incident took place near a river in the Ambadih Ghobdwa area under the Markachcho police station in the Koderma district.
Sources said Das was returning to Birni after playing dhol in a wedding.
Police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem.
