Ranchi, Dec 8: The Managing Director (MD) of Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation (JSMDC) Amit Kumar appeared before the Jharkhand High Court on Thursday in a matter of irregularities in lifting coal from Sikni Colliery in Latehar district.

The situation came after Tirupati Niryat Private Limited filed a petition before the High Court saying that JSMDC had allocated one lakh tonnes of coal to the company in the year 2020 but the company has not got 75800 tonnes of coal so far. On appearing before the court, MD Amit Kumar submitted that the company has been given 45 days to lift the coal.

As Amit Kumar gave his submission appearing in person, the division bench comprising Justice S Chandrashekhar and Justice Rantnakar Bhengra deferred the hearing in the matter till December 20 asking the company to file a reply.
