Jamshedpur, July 27: Manjunath Bhajantri joined as the new deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum district on Thursday.
Bhajantri who was earlier deputy commissioner of Deoghar district took charge from the outgoing deputy commissioner Vijaya Jadhav this afternoon.
After the charge-taking formality was over, the new deputy commissioner talked to the newsmen and pointed out his priorities.
“I will start strengthening the administrative machinery from the grassroot level as work at the panchayat level matters for the development of any district, ” said the new deputy commissioner while talking to the media.
He asserted that he would ensure proper implementation of developmental schemes of both the state government and central government in right spirit so that the people may get maximum benefit from the schemes.
Bhajantri said so far as the challenges in the urban areas are concerned, he would do his best in meeting them but asked for some time to know the steel city first.
The new DC, however, hoped that the people will extend all cooperation in every field so that he may render his service effectively.
Originally a resident of Karnataka, Bhajantri is a 2011 batch IAS from Jharkhand cadre.
