Ranchi, Aug.26: A day after the JMM and the Congress alleged BJP state president Babulal Marandi of investing his black money through Santhal Pargana Builders Private Limited, the latter dared the Hemant Soren government to confiscate the company’s property by registering an FIR against it.
Restraining the JMM from misleading people by organizing press conferences, Marandi said it is the work of the opposition to organize press conferences and the government is expected to take action against the erring companies in place of giving statements before the media.
“What is the need for the JMM to organize a press conference? Opposition people hold a press conference. It is their government, police administration that should take direct action… file an FIR and confiscate the property of the person who has acted against the law and committed the crime,” Marandi said while addressing a meeting in Dumka during his ‘Sankalp Yatra’.
Senior JMM leader Supriyo Bhattacharya had levelled allegations yesterday against Marandi while accusing the ED of being selective in taking action in the matter of money laundering.
Contacted Bhattacharya for his comment, he played safe saying ‘let the matter come in public domain first.’
Marandi went on alleging during his meeting that the Hemant government is steeped in corruption and this is the reason whenever the BJP government is formed, there is talk of development and when the JMM, Congress, RJD government is formed, there is talk of corruption.
Marandi dared the chief minister to tell regarding the development the latter has done during three and a half years and presented the achievements of his party’s government.
“The BJP government linked the land of Santhals with development. Atalji included Santhali language in the 8th Schedule, made a separate tribal ministry, connected the villages with Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana and today the Narendra Modi government has given medical college in Dumka, established AIIMS in Deoghar, made airport in Deoghar, Dumka, Godda. Everyone was connected to the railway line,” Marandi counted.
Marandi said that the development seen in Jharkhand even today is the result of the BJP government. The JMM, Marandi said, even sold the separate state movement and took money from the Narasimha Rao government, due to which Shibu Soren had to go to Tihar Jail.
Marandi said that the JMM- Congress-RJD is not concerned about the development of the state but about the development of its family.
The BJP leader said that the Hemant Soren family itself is immersed in corruption and is also giving protection to the corrupt. “Situation is that the family has also divided the area of corruption. Railway siding has also been allotted to Sita Soren, Basant Soren in his family,” he alleged.
Marandi asked Hemant Soren to tell from where he acquired so much wealth. “He should tell the ED the truth. But he is scared and went to the Supreme Court and is hiring expensive lawyers. But the Prime Minister has said from the Red Fort that he will neither eat nor let him eat,” he said.
He said: “Criminals and corruption are rampant in the state, no work is done without money. Money has to be paid even to get a death certificate made. The grains sent by the Modi government for the poor are also being black marketed. The grains of the poor were looted in the chief minister’s area. Murder, loot and rape are at their peak in the state and the police are engaged in recovery. The morale of criminals and corrupt people is high in the Hemant government.”
Marandi said: “There are no cases against criminals, but cases are filed against those who speak against crime and corruption.”
