Marathi film ‘Ghaath’ to premiere at 73rd Berlin International Film Festival

Mumbai, Jan19: Chattrapal  Ninawe’s first Marathi feature film ‘Ghaat’ will be screened at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival.

The entire team is very happy about this big achievement of the film.

Chhatrapal Ninawe said that he is very proud to have the premiere of his film in Berlin. It is a thriller that delves deep into the jungles and psyche of its characters, he further added.

Chhatrapal says, “It was a long, hard and adventurous journey, but I’m so honoured to finally be premiering our film at the Berlinale, home to so many artists that have inspired us along the way. Ghaath is a film about trust, betrayal and ambush.

He also thanked Platoon One Films and Drishyam Films and hoped that the people of Berlin would like the film.

“Ghaath is a very unique Marathi film, right from the subject to the screenplay to storytelling. The story itself is the hero of the film! It’s a proud moment for us all that our hard work will be showcased on the silver screen in Berlin,” said the actor Milind shindey.

The story is very realistic and the shooting has been done in jungles making it more realistic, the film is based on the tense negotiations between the civilians and the police on the edge of the jungles of India occupied by Maoist rebels.
