New Delhi, Nov 25: A big fire that erupted in the shops of Chandni Chowk’s Bhagirath Palace market late night was still burning on Friday morning. Efforts being made to douse the flames. Atul Garg, director of the Delhi Fire Service, said that there are numerous firefighting units on the scene attempting to put out the fire. As of yet, no casualties have been reported.

The official informed that a significant portion of the structure has been destroyed in the early hours of Friday while also stating that the “situation is not very good.”
“The situation is not very good as of now. 40 fire tenders are present at the spot. The fire will be brought under control by morning. No casualties have been reported so far. A major part of the building has been damaged,” said Atul Garg earlier today as reported by ANI.
Dr Harsh Vardhan, the ex-union health minister, visited the scene in the early hours of today and reported that the main building that had caught fire was slowly collapsing because two floors had sustained total destruction.
The call about the fire, according to the fire department, was made at 9:19 p.m. on Thursday, after which the fire tenders hurried to the scene.
The Fire Department previously informed that more than 30 fire tenders, including one unmanned firefighter, have been pressed into service.
