Boom (Belgium): Just two days before the world-renowned electronic music festival Tomorrowland was set to begin, a major fire broke out at its main stage in Boom, Belgium. The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 16, and videos of the fire quickly went viral on social media platforms.
Emergency response active, no injuries reported
According to local media, thousands of crew members were present at the site preparing for the festival when the fire broke out. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far. Firefighters and emergency services responded swiftly to control the situation.
Residents advised to stay alert
Local publication GVA reported that authorities have urged nearby residents to keep their windows and doors closed to avoid smoke inhalation. The scale of the fire raised serious concerns due to the presence of massive stage structures and flammable materials.
Festival spokesperson issues statement
Tomorrowland spokesperson Debbie Wilmsen told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, “Emergency services are on-site. Our highest priority at this moment is safety.” She clarified that only workers were present at the venue at the time of the incident, and no festival attendees had arrived yet.
Despite the fire, organizers have not announced any changes to the scheduled start of the festival on July 18, which annually attracts hundreds of thousands of electronic music fans from across the globe.
