Dhanbad, Aug 10: The authorities of Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad have caught a fake candidate trying to take admission on a forged allotment letter under the State quota.
The candidate has been identified as Riya Upadhyay of Deoghar district.
SNMMCH principal Dr Jyotiranjan Prasad and admission in-charge Dr Ganesh Kumar did reveal the name of the student and confirmed that the document of the candidate submitted at the time of admission was found fake in screening.
The principal denied that admission of the student was taken in the college.
During three days of counselling which concluded in the late evening of Tuesday, a total of 77 students took admission at SNMMCH.
“Admission of a candidate becomes confirmed only after Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) put it on its site. The JCECEB had not put the name of this candidate on the site. So, it is wrong to say he/ she took the admission. Forgery in the allotment letter of that fake candidate was detected during screening duly,” said Principal Dr Jyotiranjan Prasad.
The principal said that action would be initiated against the student after getting her clarification on the matter.
Admission in-charge Dr Ganesh Kumar, when contacted, said that the process for lodging an FIR against the fake candidate is under progress.
Earlier in 2012, two fake students were caught at the then Patliputra Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad after six months of admission.
Dr Arun Kumar Choudhary was then the principal and Dr HK Singh was admission in-charge. Both the students who had enrolled under the state quota seat had pasted their photo in place of the original candidate.
Similarly, in 2009 a girl student was also caught at PMCH Dhanbad on forged admission. Dr SN Bairolia was the principal and Dr RN Mishra was the admission in-charge at that time.
