Dhanbad, July 16: Placement offers to the students of state government-owned Birsa Institute of Technology (BIT) Sindri by renowned global companies continue to pour in at a rapid pace after the institution secured 2nd rank in the AICTE national survey last month.
Now, the global provider of engineering and construction solutions to the energy industry, McDermott International Limited which operates in 54 countries, rushed to BIT Sindri and picked up three students of the civil engineering department from the campus on Friday.
Giving this information, Chairman of BIT Sindri Career Development Centre (CDC) Prof (Dr) Ghanshyam said that McDermott has selected three students for the role of graduate engineering training on handsome annual packages.
The selected students are Ashok Mahto, Subhojeet Saha and Anirudh Kumar.
The placement offer of national and international companies to BIT Sindri has taken momentum since June 17 in comparison to the previous year after the students of the institution were declared 2nd rank in an assessment learning survey conducted by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi to ascertain the quality of students across the engineering colleges of the country.
The students of Pune Engineering College got 1st rank and BIT Sindri of Jharkhand 2nd rank. BIT Sindri director Dr DK Singh admitted that placement offers of national as well as global companies have increased after ranking in the national survey.
After the selection of the students, the director congratulated all three selected students and wished them good luck in their new adventure. He also appreciated the efforts of CDC chairman Prof Ghanshyam and the training and placement coordinator of BIT Sindri Madhav Kumar for enhancing placement statistics.
