New Delhi, Feb 18: In light of the allegations of ‘separatism’ levelled against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by former Aam Admi Party leader Kumar Vishwas, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs is reconsidering his security.
On Wednesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) posted a video showing Kumar Vishwas, a founding member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), stating that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wants to be “either the Punjab Chief Minister or the Prime Minister of Khalistan.” Kumar Vishwas was heard recalling his interaction with Arvind Kejriwal in the video, according to the BJP. Vishwas, on the other hand, did not mention Kejriwal.
Because the claims surfaced just before the Punjab elections, the matter has gained even more traction. In view of recent events, sources in the Ministry of Home Affairs said that Kumar Vishwas may be provided armed security.
On Thursday, the Aam Admi Party accused Vishwas of propagating misinformation and questioned the timing of the claimed revelation of Kejriwal’s nefarious plans. Raghav Chadha, an AAP leader, questioned why Kumar Vishwas stayed with the party for so long despite knowing, as reported, that Arvind Kejriwal intended to be the first Prime Minister of an independent nation.
Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has also requested that Prime Minister Narendra Modi order an investigation into the situation.
