Jamshedpur, Jan 12: The minimum temperature across the state would continue to rise for another 24 hours due to the impact of a western disturbance passing through higher altitude. Weathermen said the night reading was expected to rise by another two degree Celsius before witnessing a fall again.
No significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand. Only westerly to north-westerly wind prevails over the state. The Western Disturbance as a trough in middle and upper tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level now runs roughly along Long. 60°E to the north of 30°N.
Statistics revealed Ranchi and its adjoining areas recorded a minimum temperature of around 9-10 degree Celsius. Jamshedpur too recorded a similar temperature.
Daltonganj, Simdega and several other places in Northwest Jharkhand recorded minimum temperatures between 6 and 7 degrees Celsius. Khunti recorded the lowest temperature of around 4.5 degree Celsius.
Weathermen predicted mist in the morning for the next two days and later clear sky. A forecast of dry weather was issued for the next 72 hours.
