Deoghar: As Jharkhand gears up for the second and final phase of Assembly elections on Wednesday, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has raised serious concerns over the presence of state ministers and a Bihar MP in Deoghar despite the conclusion of the campaign period.

Nishikant Dubey seeks Election Commission’s intervention

Nishikant Dubey alleged that Jharkhand ministers Banna Gupta and Mithilesh Thakur, along with Bihar MP Pappu Yadav, remained in Deoghar after the official end of the campaign period. Dubey highlighted the issue in a tweet, questioning the actions of the district administration.

The BJP MP revealed that he had reported the matter to the Deoghar Deputy Commissioner but claimed no action was taken. Consequently, he urged the Election Commission to take immediate cognizance of the matter.

“The presence of ministers and a Bihar MP after the campaign’s conclusion raises concerns about the fairness of the election process. I request the Election Commission to address this issue urgently to ensure free and fair polling,” Dubey tweeted.

With polling scheduled in the coal belt and Santhal Pargana regions in the second phase, such allegations have added to the election’s intensity. Authorities are yet to respond to the complaint.
