Hazaribag, July 18: A 14-year-old minor girl studying in a government school at Daru block was molested by an assistant teacher Mukesh Kumar. Hurt by this act, the girl student tried to end her life by consuming poison. The minor girl was treated at Sheikh Bihari Medical College, Hazaribagh where her condition is stated to be out of danger.
On Monday, when the health of the girl improved, her mother lodged a complaint in Daru police station. The FIR number 56/23 is lodged under sections 376, 306 and POSCO Act. The mother of the victim said in her statement that she is a student of class IX. She said her daughter had gone to the house of the accused to fill up the examination form. On the pretext of filling up the form, the teacher took him to a room and molested her. Hurt by this incident, the parents and other relatives of the student have demanded action against the accused teacher. Daru police station officer-in-charge Amit Kumar said they will arrest the accused soon.
