Dhanbad, Mar 28: The POCSO court today sentenced Vikas Singh, a resident of Housing Colony Taldanga under Chirkunda police station for 20 years for abducting a minor girl in a two years old case.
The POCSO court special judge Prabhakar Singh while delivering the judgement today also slapped a fine of Rs 7,000 on the accused.
The Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) said that the court held Vikas Singh guilty in the case yesterday ( on Monday) and reserved the announcement on the quantum of punishment for today (Tuesday).
As per the FIR lodged in Chirkunda police station by the victim girl’s father in March 2020, the accused Vikas Singh cajoled the class 8 students to someplace. Family members searched for the girl in the surrounding area. In the evening, the elder brother of the accused informed that the girl was in his house.
However, when the police raided the house the youth and girl both were not there. But police recovered clothes from the room.
After a proper investigation, Chirkunda police filed a charge sheet in court on September 20, 2020.
