Daltonganj, March 29: Three assistant professors of the YSN Mahila college Daltonganj had a miraculous escape when the car in which they were going to Bekwatiker mohalla, was dashed from the front by a tractor having no trolley on Tuesday evening.
All three assistant professors namely Mashrique Jahan (English) Supriya Sonalika (Pol Sc) and Mini Tudu (Home Science) were traumatised badly by this accident.
The car belongs to Mashrique Jahan and she was driving it too.
Mashrique Jahan said, “We three were in the car. We were going to Bekwatiker mohalla around 5 in the evening of Tuesday. We saw a tractor coming from the opposite direction. It was being driven by a minor.”
She said, “I at once had a fear that this tractor would be hitting the car. I honked. I tried hard to save my car and the occupants but the tractor driver was a minor and he was just looking blank and had no control over the tractor. The tractor hit the car and damaged it.”
She said she was so traumatized that she couldn’t phone anyone for help. Her colleague Supriya Sonalika dialled 100 and then the in charge of the town outpost 2, Rudranand Saras reached the site of the accident and took stock of the situation.
Saras said, “Police have seized the tractor. Its driver managed to run away. The car has also been parked in the premises of the town police station. We are looking for the driver /owner of the tractor. ”
On being told that near the accident site, there is a posh hotel equipped with high-resolution CCTV cameras and the images of the driver and the tractor must be recorded there to which the police official said “We will be scanning it but since great festival Ramnavami is on we are hard pressed to perform law and order duty. This case will get proper attention.”
