Miscreants loot 11 computers from government school in Hazaribag

Hazaribag, Nov 1:Big theft was reported in a government school of Ichak block, Hazaribag with thrives taking away all the desktop computers from the computer lab. Other than eleven desktop computers, 1 printer, 1 projector, 1 web camera, 6 batteries, 1 stabiliser of 5KVA, 10 mouse beside other items kept there.

The theft came into knowledge when teachers came to school today after Diwali and chhaath leave. An FIR was lodged in this connection at the Ichak police station. Sources said thieves climbed the boundary wall of the RM project high school and broke open the door of the computer lab. They escaped with 11 computers and all other items.

The acting principal of the school Raunak Naz said she had lodged an FIR in this connection besides informing education department officials.

Police officials said this theft was committed between Oct 23 to Oct 31 when school was closed for Diwali and Chhath. They said the probe started to identify and nab the thieves.

Well-known BJP leader Bateshwar Prasad Mehta said theft in this school is very unfortunate. This school was started in 1978 by him and other villagers who gave their raiyati land for this project. In 1988, government has taken this school and now it is providing education to hundreds of students of this area including girls.

“I request police officers to do speedy investigation to catch the thieves,” he said.

A team will be constituted to nab the thieves. We have started our investigation,” Officer-in-charge of Ichak police station Dhananjay Singh said.
