Jamshedpur, Nov 5: Miscreants, about a dozen in number damaged vehicles and opened fire in the air at Sanjeevani Path under Sankosai police station area in Mango on Diwali night.

The incident took place past mid-night. According to local residents of Sanjeevani Path, a group of anti-social elements who were reportedly drunk started vandalising the vehicles parked outside.

” They were using slang language and were shouting at the top of their voice. People were terrified and remained indoors. At the time of leaving the miscreants opened fire in the air, ” said Anil Singh, a local resident

The mobile police of Mango and Sankosai police stations reached the spot but failed to trace the miscreants. Later,  residents came out of their houses and informed the matter to local BJP leader Vikas Singh who came to the spot around 1 am.
