Daltonganj July 21: A housewife (name not disclosed) was snatched off her cash alleged to be a little over 1 lakh by miscreants in daylight crime on a high-profile road having SBI branch, official residence of the chief judicial magistrate, personal house of the ex-civil surgeon, lawyer, contractor, coaching centre etc in Daltonganj.
Assistant superintendent of police and SDPO Rishabha Garg said the woman was walking down this particular street this afternoon when a bike having two persons on it, one of them in a helmet who was driving and the other whose face was not covered, in a fraction of second snatched the jhola (not bag or purse) of this woman wherein the cash was stated to be little over one lakh and made their escape.
The woman was said to have withdrawn cash from the local branch of the PNB Daltonganj.
Police officer Garg said it is in all probability that this woman was being followed by the miscreants right from the bank and here on this road, the miscreants stripped her of the cash.
Officer in-charge of the town police station Abhay Kumar Sinha said the woman having cash was walking down in a usual manner and not in any hurry or in any cautious mode of any kind and also unmindful of her being followed by anyone.
