Ranchi: The RIMS administration has expressed strong displeasure over a series of misleading and negative reports circulating about the institute. Director Dr. Rajkumar said that whenever any public interest litigation involving RIMS comes into discussion, certain platforms begin spreading fabricated information, causing public confusion and damaging the institution’s reputation.
Director Warns Against False Reporting
Dr. Rajkumar noted that when courts take cognisance of matters, the institute is compelled to allocate considerable time and resources to counter false reports. This, he said, diverts attention from RIMS’ primary responsibility of delivering quality healthcare services to the public. He emphasised that RIMS is a large, complex institution where operational challenges may arise, but baseless reports only worsen situations and create unnecessary complications.
Legal Action Initiated Against Repeated Offenders
According to the director, limited resources often have to be spent responding to unfounded allegations, affecting staff productivity, efficiency, and morale. He confirmed that some media outlets repeatedly publish factually incorrect content, and legal proceedings against such entities have already begun.
Addressing a specific claim, Dr. Rajkumar clarified that reports regarding a shortage of blankets at RIMS are “completely false.” He stated that the hospital maintains an adequate supply and also operates blanket banks, where attendants may borrow blankets by depositing ₹100, refunded upon return.
