Dhanbad, June 28: MN Dastur and Company Limited, the first design and consultancy organization which positioned India on the frontline of the world engineering map, has made its maiden entry to the Birsa Institute of Technology (BIT) Sindri for campus selection.

On the first day of its entry, the company picked up a metallurgical engineering student Deepak Kumar Besra to open its account on the campus where many national and multi-national manufacturing companies have made beeline for the selection of students as per their requirements.

“Several companies have come and picked up our students from the campus but this is the first time when MN Dastur and Company Limited has entered and selected our student,” said Prof (Dr) Ghanshyam, the chairman of Career Development Centre (CDC) of BIT Sindri.

Besides MN Dastur and Company Limited, Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL) also selected three students from the civil engineering department. The selected students are Suraj Kumar, Ankit Besra and Ankit Kumar Sinha.

BIT Sindri has become the centre of the attraction for the companies across the country after it was declared as the 2nd best among the engineering colleges of the nation in terms of students’ merit in the survey conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on June 17.

A total of 193 students of BIT Sindri got a 5-star rank in the survey. Pune Engineering College got the first rank.

BIT director DK Singh while congratulating the selected candidates also expressed sincere gratitude towards MN Dastur and Company Limited officials for conducting the selection on the campus.

“I would also like to acknowledge my Training and Placement coordinator Madhav Kumar and his team for their continuous efforts towards the growing placement statistics,” he said.
