Jamshedpur, Jan 7: Several isolated pockets of the state was experiencing moderate cold wave conditions for the past 24- hours. The crisp and cold north-westerly wind blowing from the northern parts of the country has intensified the chill in Jharkhand.
According to weathermen at IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre fog and mist would continue to prevail in the morning followed by a clear sky later.
Weather department officials said there will not be any significant changes in the minimum temperature for the next 48- hours thereafter the minimum reading is expected to witness a slight rise.
An alert of shallow to moderate fog was issued for several places during the next two days.
Statistics revealed that Ranchi, Bokaro, Deoghar and Khunti recorded around six degree Celsius while Jamshedpur and its adjoining areas recorded around 10 degree Celsius.
Moderate cold wave conditions were prevailing in Bokaro and several other isolated areas of the state. The winter chill has suddenly intensified which is going to stay for some time, said weathermen.
