Jamshedpur, Oct 7:  The southwest monsoon has started withdrawing from Jharkhand, said weathermen today.

The line of withdrawal of southwest monsoon was today passing through Lucknow, Satna, Nagpur, Parbhani, Pune and Alibag.

Weathermen said conditions are favourable for further withdrawal of southwest monsoon from remaining parts of East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh; some parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana; and some more parts of

Maharashtra and Central Arabian Sea during the next two days.

Complete withdrawal of monsoon from Jharkhand is expected in the next one or two days, according to weathermen.

The  low-pressure trough was today running from Nagaland to southwest Bihar across the cyclonic circulation associated with the low-pressure area over the central parts of

Bangladesh and neighbourhood extending upto 3.1 Km above the mean sea level.

No alerts have been issued by the Met department for the next few days. However, light rain accompanied by thunder is expected at a few isolated places in southern Jharkhand today.

Light to moderate rain was observed at a few places over the state during the past 24 hours.
