New Delhi, June 14: Delhi Court on Tuesday allowed Punjab Police to formally arrest gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in connection with their probe into the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case.

Notably Sidhu Moose Wala, famous Punjabi singer and Congress activist was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Mansa district on May 29.

On Tuesday, Lawrence Bishnoi was brought in a Delhi court at the end of his custody period in connection with an Arms Act charge filed against him. Lawrence Bishnoi was taken into jail by Punjab Police as part of their investigation into the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala.

Lawrence Bishnoi’s lawyer filed a petition in Delhi’s Patiala court requesting greater protection for the incarcerated criminal after the name of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang was linked to the assassination of Sidhu Moose Wala. Lawrence Bishnoi, according to his lawyer, might be assassinated by police in a ‘false confrontation’ or attacked by rival gangs.
