Ramgarh, July 16: Iron and scrap thieves created havoc in the regional workshop of CCL located on the riverside under the Bhurkunda OP area late last night. The thieves thrashed the security personnel of CCL and the Home Guard jawans fiercely due to which two jawans got head injuries. The matter has been reported to the Bhurkunda OP police.
More than three dozen thieves reached the CCL Regional Workshop at River Side late on Saturday night. When the dog barked, the security personnel spotted the thieves and tried to sound the siren. But the siren didn’t sound. The security personnel ran to the security room and closed the gate. At the same time, the thieves warned the security personnel to kill them and asked them to open the gate and started trying to break the gate. The security personnel opened the gate, appealing not to thrash. The thieves entered inside and attacked the security personnel and the Home Guard jawans. In the fight, the heads of two Home Guard jawans were injured. The thieves kept everyone hostage in a room and started looting.
What items have been looted has not been officially confirmed till now. There is an atmosphere of panic among the security personnel. Due to the incident, once again serious question marks are being raised on the security system of the Bhurkunda area.
