Hazaribag, Dec 26: MP Jayant Sinha on Monday termed the completion of Hazaribag-Ranchi rail line as a big achievement. He claimed that it will fulfill the desire of his constituency of long distance trains making stops here.
He said railway minister Ashwini Vainshav, while talking to reporters this evening in BJP office said that this project finally got completed in 23 years in a budget of Rs 3800 crore.
He further said that a train depot is must for Hazaribag railway station. He said he had talked to the then railway minister Piysuh Goel getting clearance for the depot. The electrification also been done while the depot is being made.
He said that due to this new stretch, distance between Ranchi and Patna has decreased by 60 kms. In coming days, this line will become an important one with many long distance trains going through the route.
Sources in the railway have said that this line will get three trains for the moment, proposals for which are being made. One of the trains will be an intercity express from Ranchi to Koderma. Another will be Ranchi-Sasaram express, while the third will be Ranchi-Islampur (Patna) train.
