Balaghat, Sept 29: In an encounter with hawk force early on Friday in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district, a 25-year-old Naxal carrying a reward of Rs 14 lakh was shot and killed, the police stated.
A rifle was also found in the possession of Kamlu (25), who hails from Bijapur in Chhattisgarh. According to the police release, he was an active member of TADA Dedekasa Dalam and had a Rs 14 lakh bounty on his head.
Additionally, it stated that on Friday early in the morning, while Hawk Force was conducting a search in the Kundal-Koddapar Songudda forest, which is under the jurisdiction of the Rupjhar police station in the district, Naxalites opened fire on them.
In the course of this action, the security forces fired back, resulting in the fatality of a Naxal, and there was a likelihood of other Naxals sustaining injuries in the encounter. The release also mentioned that a search operation is currently in progress within the forest.
