Dhanbad, July 5: Coal belt-based Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) industry will now get direct power supply from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC).

At a meeting with industrialists and top office bearers of the Jharkhand Industries Trade Association (JITA), the senior officers of DVC assured them to take a decision on the proposal of giving direct power supply and informed them about the guidelines of (DVC).

In the meeting held at DVC Kandra (Govindpur) substation, JITA General Secretary Rajiv Sharma suggested that since the power condition of JVBNL in urban areas is poor, DVC should initiate steps for supplying 440-volt power to commercial and domestic consumers of the coal belt. The consumers would get a new system of power supply and the condition of power would also be improved in the region.

Kandra industrial area-based factories are facing closure due to poor supply of power from JVBNL.

Rajiv Sharma requested the DVC officials for providing direct power supply to MSMEs based in the Kandra Industrial area, Govindpur and Debli Area through 33 KV and 11 KV connections.

Superintending engineer Punit Kumar Jain (Ranchi) and superintending engineer (Putki) Subir Kumar Das of DVC assured to put up the proposal before senior officers of the organization for consideration.

Informing the JITA office-bearer and industrialists about DVC guidelines of taking direct connection, Punit Kumar Jain said that for connection through 33KV and 11 KV, power load must be 350 KV and 100 KV respectively.

“For this consumer would have to pay Rs 3.75 per unit or fix charge of Rs 3.50 per KVA or Rs 7.70 lakh per 100  KVA as security charge,” he said.

He further added that consumers would also have to arrange a metering system and transformer for getting a direct connection.

JITA general secretary said that they would put up the guidelines of DVC  before the association and after discussion inform the power company (DVC) soon.

JITA patron and eminent industrialist KN Mittal, Naval Agrawal, Hemant Gupta, DVC Kandra superintending engineer Atish Anand, NK Jha. assistant engineer Rajesh Kumar was present at the meeting.
