Patna: In a shocking incident, Jitan Sahani, father of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani, was found brutally murdered at their ancestral home in Bihar’s Darbhanga district. His mutilated body was discovered on the bed this morning, causing panic among local residents.
Senior police officer Jagannath Reddy confirmed the incident, stating that a police team is currently at the Sahanis’ home. The gruesome murder has sent shockwaves through the community.
Mukesh Sahani, a former minister in the Bihar government, leads the VIP, which enjoys significant support within the OBC community. The VIP is currently allied with the RJD and the Congress in the INDIA Opposition bloc.
In response to the murder, Senior Officer Reddy announced the formation of a three-member Special Investigation Team to thoroughly investigate the crime.
The main opposition party, RJD, has strongly criticized the Nitish Kumar government for the incident. RJD spokesperson Shakti Yadav expressed his shock, stating, “What is happening in Bihar? Not a day goes by without news of a murder. A mindless government is in power. The system has collapsed.” He also extended his condolences to Mukesh Sahani, saying, “May God grant Mukesh Sahani the strength to bear this grief.”
