Jamshedpur, Sept 8 : Parking-related hassles would soon become a thing of the past at Sakchi, the steel city’s biggest commercial hub.

Local civic body – Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee ( JNAC ) has decided to come up with a multi-layered parking area opposite the Basant Cinema along the Kalimati Road in Sakchi.

“The multi-layer parking will have facility of charging points for electric vehicles. It will be the first such parking lot in steel city, ” said a JNAC Official.

He went on to say that car-lifts will be installed to ensure swift parking of four-wheelers.

The parking area will be spacious and help in overcoming parking-related bottlenecks at that commercial place, added the official.

Sources said the urban civic body has appointed a consultant for preparing a detailed project report (DPR) for the parking facility.

Parking of vehicles at Sakchi is a serious issue.

Recently, the traffic wing of district police had launched drive towing four-wheelers including cars and SUVs from No Parking zones at Sakchi and imposing penalties on vehicle owners.
