Ranchi, May 31: A model alleged Ranchi-based Yash Modelling Company director Tanveer Akhtar Khan of pressurizing her to convert her religion for marriage.
Model Manvi Raj Singh, who is a native of Bhagalpur in Bihar, lodged a complaint in this connection at Mumbai’s Versova police saying Khan identified himself as Yash while working in his modelling school in Ranchi and revealed his identity when she became friendly with him and both wanted to get married.
The model alleged that Tanveer not only cheated her by hiding his religion but also tried to kill her by coming to Mumbai, and uploaded her video on YouTube. She also sought help from the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister in saving her life and religion.
The Ranchi Police on the basis of her complaint lodged a case of rape against Tanveer. The IPC sections under which the police had registered FIR include 376, 376 (2), 376 (N), 328, 506, 504, and 323 and section 67 of the IT Act.
The Mumbai Police has registered a zero FIR and sent the case to Ranchi. The incident is of the Gonda police station area of Ranchi. In such a situation, the Gonda police station has started investigating the whole matter.
