Mumbai, June 28: The BMC reports that one person has died and twelve people have been rescued from the building collapse incident in Kurla, Maharashtra.
“D wing of the Naik Nagar Society collapsed last night. 12 people were rescued and one was declared dead. Some people are still trapped,” Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Additional Commissioner Ashwini Bhide on Tuesday said.

Bhide claimed that the collapsed structure was dilapidated and that since 2013 orders had been issued first for repairs and later for demolition.
Late on Monday night, a four-story building in Mumbai’s Kurla fell. The incident happened in the neighbourhood of Naik Nagar.
A rescue operation is currently going on and a fire brigade crew and police are on the scene. On Monday at 11:52 p.m., the fire department received a call. Twelve fire engines, two rescue vans, and six ambulances were dispatched, according to officials, to assess the situation. There are also five JCBs with 28 workers in addition of this.
