Bhide claimed that the collapsed structure was dilapidated and that since 2013 orders had been issued first for repairs and later for demolition.

Late on Monday night, a four-story building in Mumbai’s Kurla fell. The incident happened in the neighbourhood of Naik Nagar.

A rescue operation is currently going on and a fire brigade crew and police are on the scene. On Monday at 11:52 p.m., the fire department received a call. Twelve fire engines, two rescue vans, and six ambulances were dispatched, according to officials, to assess the situation. There are also five JCBs with 28 workers in addition of this.
