Mumbai, Nov 6: Mumbai sessions court on Saturday adjourned the hearing in the anticipatory bail application of Hrishikesh Deshmukh, son of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, in connection with the money laundering case till November 12.
Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had summoned Hrishikesh Deshmukh for questioning in an alleged money laundering case, in which Anil Deshmukh has been arrested. Following this, he moved to sessions court today and filed a petition for anticipatory bail.
On Friday also, the ED asked Hrishikesh to appear before but he did not, said ED officials.
Notably, Hrishikesh Deshmukh’s father and former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh was sent to 14-day judicial custody on Saturday by a Special PMLA court in connection to an alleged money laundering case. The ED had sought nine days of custody for the probe. However, it was denied by the court. Anil Deshmukh was arrested on Nov 1 in a money laundering case as former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh alleged that he was involved in several wrongdoings, including asking Sachin Waze to collect Rs 100 crore from bars and restaurants in Mumbai. The ED has already attached immovable assets worth Rs 4.2 crore allegedly belonging to Anil Deshmukh and his family members.
