Ranchi, Jan.14: A lady from Mumbai, Nikhat Parveen, landed in trouble after she failed to mention the name of her 15- month old ‘son’ in her journey ticket she had booked online on January 12.
The problem arose on January 13 after she reached Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi and the CISF personnel did not allow her to enter the airport after they did not find the name of the boy with her mentioned in the ticket.
When she, who had to board Indigo flight 6E341, went to get the name entered in the ticket, an Indigo staff asked her to furnish details of the boy. The woman had a problem in doing so and when she was facing the problem she was being suspected as a human trafficker.
Director of Birsa Munda Airport Vinod Sharma confirmed the problem without going into the details. He said everything was cleared after verification. He, however, could not say whether the lady could board on the flight or not to go Mumbai on January 13 or 14.
When this correspondent attempted to know whether the lady could go to Mumbai or not, a different story surfaced. Sub inspector Babita Kumari of the Anti Human Trafficking Unit of Ranchi presented a different story saying the lady has been detained.
“The lady does not have any document to claim her right on the baby,” Kumari said without elaborating.
When insisted, Kumari said the lady was carrying a 3-day old baby without any certificate justifying her claim over the baby. She said the investigating officer of the case is another sub-inspector Durga Gupta. When attempting to contact her on her official mobile number 7717753295 the call was being forwarded. The AHTU in Ranchi runs at Kotwali police station. When attempted to call its officer-in-charge he did not take the call.
S.P.(city) Saurav confirmed the incident but expressed his inability to share any details. “Haan case hua hai par abhi details nahi hai mere paas,” Saurav said.
Unconfirmed sources said when a CISF jawan restrained her from entering in the airport due to this reason, the lady went to the Indigo counter to get the name of the baby mentioned in the ticket but when the Indigo staff asked her to tell the name and age of the baby and asked for the birth certificate issued by hospital she got confused.
This created doubt in the mind of Indigo staff Rizwan Quadir and Anjani Nandan Pandey. They did proper verification and came to know that the lady had come without any baby on January 11 and the matter was communicated to the anti -human trafficking unit for proper legal action.
