NAAC team gets feedback on gradation of Ranchi University

Ranchi, March 1: A three-member NAAC team, including Dr D K Kamle, Dr Nilesh Pandey and Dr Srikant Swamy on Wednesday visited Ranchi University to redress queries about NAAC and to provide a state-wise analysis report for all colleges.

In his address, RU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ajit Kumar Sinha while welcoming the three members of NAAC said that their visit was a matter of good fortune for Ranchi University.

IQAC Coordinator Dr Smriti Singh, through a slide show, presented the achievements of Ranchi University since its inception and discussed various courses run in Ranchi University, its colleges and the contribution of RU students in sports at national and international levels.

Dr Nilesh Pandey, Advisor, NAAC expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome of his team and said, “Ranchi University is the diamond of Jharkhand. Whatever we look for excellence in all the universities, I see them all in Ranchi University.” He further advised the university officials to prepare according to all required norms for proper grading.

Senior NAAC Advisor Dr Kamble said, “On the basis of my experiences, I can say that Ranchi University is on the way to becoming an excellent university.”

He further advised, “You should not only work for good grades in NAAC but should aim to identify your shortcomings and improve them, as well as take the best of your university to a higher level.”

Academic expert of NAAC, Dr Shrikant Swami explained in detail all the technical methods from preparing the report to submitting it to NAAC and said that due to mistakes in these, even a good university or college lags behind. He advised, “You should prepare all the documentation and support documents properly.”

After listening to all the experts of NAAC, a question-answer session was conducted. Heads, Deans and professors from various colleges present in the auditorium asked their questions, which were answered by the three members. They redressed curiosity on several issues.

Registrar Dr Mukund Mehta, Controller of Examinations Dr Ashish Kumar Jha, DSW Dr GS Jha, Heads of all departments, Deans, teachers, principals and students from various colleges were present in the programme.
