New Delhi, Dec 23: The Congress delegation formed in response to the Nagaland killings presented its report to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday at 4 p.m.
A firing incident by security personnel earlier this month killed 14 civilians and resulted in the death of security personnel in a mob attack in the Tizit area of Mon district in Nagaland.
Following the incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah described the killing of civilians by security forces in Nagaland as a “case of mistaken identity” and announced the formation of a special investigation team (SIT) with the mandate to submit its report on the tragic incident within one month.
The Congress party on December 6 constituted a four-member delegation to visit Nagaland and submit the report within 7 days.
