National Fire Service Week concludes at Tata Steel West Bokaro

Ramgarh, April 20: Tata Steel West Bokaro Division concluded the National Fire Service Week which was scheduled for April 14-20. It organized awareness training and mock drills in various schools and departments throughout the week with the objective of sensitizing the employees, contract workers and community people including school children on a large scale.  The theme of National Fire Service Week 2023 was “Awareness in Fire Safety for Development of National Infrastructure”.

Throughout the week, engineering and projects including mock drills were conducted in the Quarry AB department, Quarry SEB department, Holy Cross School, DAV School, Ghatotand, Dr BR Ambedkar School, Tata Steel Foundation department and Chainpur Railway Siding.

The objective of the programme was to create awareness about fire safety measures and to prepare oneself during fire emergencies.  During the training, employees, contract workers, community people and students were told about the category of fire and types of fire extinguishers, as well as how to prevent any fire around them.  On this occasion, the firefighting team also demonstrated the fire tender.
