Ranchi, Nov 1: The Ninth National Conference of Veterinary Scientists on Livestock Extension Forum of India will be held on 4-5 November at Birsa Agricultural University (BAU). The central theme of the conference is the expansion of livestock propagation innovations for doubling farmers’ income.
More than 250 scientists and officials from various agricultural universities, veterinary universities, research institutes of ICAR and state governments will participate in the event, BAU said in a statement.
The Chief Guest of the conference will be Dr Umesh Chandra Sharma, President, Veterinary Council of India while Dr Onkar Nath Singh, Vice Chancellor of BAU will preside. VK Bisht, Chief General Manager, NABARD, Ranchi and Dr KC Veeranna, Vice Chancellor, Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Science University, Bidar will be the special guests.
The conference is being organized by the Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education, BAU in association with National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEPE) and Veterinary Extension Forum of India.
Organizing Secretary of the conference, Dr Alok Kumar Pandey informed that in various sessions in the conference, developments and models taking place at the national and global level in the field of livestock propagation and consultancy services, information communication technology based extension consultancy services, entrepreneurship competencies related to the live stock sector.
There will be detailed discussion on topics like incubation, startups and challenges, climate change, sustainability, animal welfare, challenges arising out of disease and epidemics and research and extension consultancy services in livestock based integrated farming system.
