Jharkhand: National ST SC Hub asks tribal women to become entrepreneur

Ranchi, Sept.28: In order to promote entrepreneurship among tribal women, an entrepreneurship development programme was today organized at Jharkhand Small Scale Industries Association (JSSAI) at Kokar.

The programme was organized by National SC – ST Hub, a unit of the Ministry of MSME. Help of the women cell of Tribal Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TICCI) was taken to make the programme successful.

Participants were informed about products which can be produced with the help of jack fruit and guava. Apart from this, they were also informed about the medicinal values of these fruits.

Those present as trainers included Father Melu, Vaidya Manoj Kumar Mahato and Daisy Surin who had come Bihar capital besides TICCI women cell Vasavi Kido.

Addressing the programme, chief manager of National ST SC Hub Kiran Maria Tiru apprised everyone about the schemes of National SC ST Hub and also provided information related to tender and business loans of Central Government and State Government. She motivated women to come into business.

Tiru said that the Ministry of MSME, Government of India has given a reservation of 3% for women under the Public Procurement Policy, but due to the negligible number of women in the field of business, they are not able to take advantage of this reservation.

Tiru said that the first priority of the department is to make women aware of such programs and bring them into the field of business. She also inspired rural women to come forward to promote

TICCI women cell convenor Vasvi Kido was also present during the programme.
