National throwball championship: 4 girls of Bokaro in Jharkhand team

Dhanbad, Feb 23: The highest four girls of Bokaro district have been selected in the Jharkhand team for the 43rd senior national throwball championship to be played in New Delhi from February 26 to March 1.

Jharkhand  State Throwball Association (JSTA)  general secretary Santosh  Kumar Singh while announcing 26 members of men’s and women’s teams said that players have been selected on the basis of the trial competition held last year.

“ The 43rd  senior national championship was scheduled in January but it was cancelled due to rising  Covid infection across the country. The national federation has  rescheduled the programme and it would be held in New Delhi from February 26,” said  Santosh Kumar Singh.

The General Secretary said due to examinations some top players of the state who are studying in Kolkata and  Bhubaneswar and other places have withdrawn their name.

Teams are ( Boys)-  Vikash Yadav ( captain), Vivek Yadav, Jagdish Nayak, Baizy Paswan, Chandan Bauri, Priyansu Paswan,  Avinash Ray, B Purna Rohit, Devi Bauri dinu Oraon, Amarjit Saurav Santhal and Aryan Raj.
Vivek Prasad and Amit Raj have been made coach and manager of the boys team.

Girls team-  Anshu Bandana ( captain), Jyoti Sahu, Manoram Oraon, Smriti Singh, Nisha Murmu, Puja Kumari, Muskan Singh (Bokaro), Madhu Priya, Akanksha Singh (Bokro).
Ashtha ( Bokaro, Kiran Singh (Bokaro) Vartika Kumari , Ishita Aryan.

Abha Sharma and Niyaz Ahmed have been made coach and manager of the team respectively.

Chairman of the association Shabbir Akhter, NK Sharma Dinesh yadav, Kaushal Singh, Dr MK Thakur, Rahul Anand , Suchit Singh, Sanjiv Thakur and Ajay Choubey who were part of team preparation expressed hope that both the teams would perform its potential in the championship.
