Ranchi, Jan 24: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday said that Naxal activities are slightly more in West Singhbhum and Simdega districts and there is a need to speed up the development in these districts.
Notably, Jharkhand CM gave several instructions to the officials during the review of the development works and welfare schemes being conducted in the West Singhbhum and Simdega districts in Chaibasa today.
“Officers should fulfil their responsibilities in connecting the youth with employment or self-employment so that they do not go on the path of distraction. Along with this, strengthen better policing and health facilities in these areas. Many times, we get to hear the news of patients walking for hours on cots or any other way to take them to the hospital. This is a matter of great concern. The officers should take full care that such a situation does not arise,” the CM said.
The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand is a tribal and Dalit-dominated state and the government is constantly making efforts to advance the weak and deprived sections including farmers, labourers, differently-abled, elderly, women and youth.
“Many schemes are being run in this regard. The officers should work with full sensitivity towards providing the benefits of these schemes, only then we will be able to achieve our goals and objectives,” he added.
He added that many times a situation of confusion arises regarding various schemes from the panchayat and block to the headquarters level. If such confusions arise, then there is a solution too.
“If anyone has any kind of doubt regarding any scheme, then he should inform his preferred officer or department. It is the effort of the government that the implementation of every scheme should be done in a better way on the ground,” the CM informed.
Moreover, he said that Jharkhand has all the resources including minerals, which can take the state forward on the path of development. He told the officials that keeping in view the character of Jharkhand, you need to step aside from your post and work together with the people.
He added that the cooperation of banks is very important for the development of the state.
“The banks are not cooperating with the government as expected. In many schemes, the government itself is the guarantor, yet the people here are not getting its benefits. In such a situation, the officers will have to speed up their responsibilities and tasks. For this, the government will provide every resource at its level,” he said.
According to the CM, the government is promoting sports activities in the state, especially in Naxal-affected areas, sports programs are being organised under the Sahay Yojana.
“Recently, a football competition was organised at the panchayat level, in which about 80,000 players showed their talent. Along with this, kits were also distributed to these players by the government,” the CM said.
Moreover, he instructed the officers that before the implementation of the Savitri Bai Phule Kishori Samriddh Yojana, take the initiative to collect the data of the girls who have left school and connect them with this scheme.
Similarly, to ensure the benefit of the pension scheme to all the destitute women till February 28, for this there should be a system of verification by getting the death certificate made at the panchayat level.
By February 15, 2023, ensure the benefit of the pension scheme to all eligible persons above 60 years of age and its data is uploaded on the government website.
Moreover, The process of opening the children’s bank account should be completed by January 31, 2023, so that the scholarship scheme amount can be deposited in their account through DBT.
He said that whether the beneficiaries of the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Scheme are utilizing the amount received from the government or not, it should also be informed and monitored.
Employment should be made available to the villagers by creating maximum man-days under MNREGA, he said.
