Ranchi, Feb 20: National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) chairman Priyank Kanungo reached Jharkhand on Sunday and left for Barhi in Hazaribagh from Ranchi Airport. He will meet the relatives of Rupesh Pandey, who died during a dispute between two groups during the idol immersion. He will receive information about the whole incident in Barhi. He said that information has been received that many children have been detained by the police in this case which is not right. It will be examined and the commission will not allow the rights of any child to be violated at any cost. He further said that the matter would be investigated with complete impartiality and that justice would be provided to the family of the deceased child.
Kanungo said that after meeting the family in this matter, he would also meet the investigating officers and get the details of the action taken so far regarding the case. After the death of Rupesh Pandey, there has been a political storm brewing in the entire state. Many leaders have met Pandey’s family members, while some have been stopped by the administration. Jharkhand BJP president Deepak Prakash and Delhi BJP leader Kapil Mishra were stopped and were not allowed to meet the family.
