New Delhi, March 19: Delhi Police said that the police officials met Rahul Gandhi regarding details of victims of ‘sexual harassment’ and he has sought time to compile the details. According to Hooda, the Congress MP requested more time, claiming that the yatra was lengthy and he had met a lot of people.

“We held a meeting with Rahul Gandhi. He said he needs some time and will give us the information which we’ve asked for. Today we’ve served a notice which has been accepted by his office and if questioning needs to be done then we will do it,” said Special CP(L&O) Sagar Preet Hooda.

“Rahul Gandhi said it was a long yatra and he met many people and needs time to compile it. He has assured us that he will give the information soon and we will begin our proceedings as soon as we receive the information,” he added.

On Sunday morning, a group of Delhi Police officers, including Special CP Sagar Preet Hooda and Delhi DCP, went to Rahul Gandhi’s home to get a reaction to the police’s warning to the Congressman over his comment that “women are still being sexually harassed” during a speech in Srinagar.

On March 16, police handed Rahul Gandhi a questionnaire and requested that he ‘provide facts about women who approached him alleging sexual harassment.’ The police had taken notice of social media posts at the time. “We will reply to the notification in due course and in accordance with legislation,” Congress reacted.

“A government rattled by Shri Rahul Gandhi’s questions on PM Modi and Adani’s relationship hides behind its police. 45 days after Bharat Jodo Yatra was completed, Delhi Police has, via a notice, sought details of women who met him and spoke about harassment and violence they may have faced,” taking to Twitter, the Congress said.

The Delhi Police’s action follows the Congress party’s failure to reply to the notification despite its promise to do so. Two senior police officers entered Rahul Gandhi’s home, according to sources, and secured the area. When they attempted to enter the building, some members of Congress were held.
