Dhanbad, Oct 4: Water (Neer) offered to Baba Baidyanath by the devotees would be now packed and made available for devotees as ‘prasad’. Deoghar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manjunath Bhajantri directed the officers to filter the water that comes out from Baba Baidyanath temple and make it usable in the interest of devotees on Monday.
“Devotees have high reverence towards the sacred water offered to Baba Baidyanath. Presently, this water goes into the drainage. It could be saved from being wasted. We can clean it by using advanced technology and store it in Mansarovar after recycling,” said the DC. He also ordered to make packages of Neer for devotees as ‘Prasad’.
Everyday devotees offer thousands of liters of sacred water to Baba Baidyanath (Jyotirlinga) and 22 other temples of different deities on the premises.
The DC on Monday morning visited Baba Baidyanath temple. Besides filtering Neer, he also directed the concerned officials for associating local women in making Agarbatti and Dhupbatti from Aegle Marmelos leaves (Belpatra) and flowers offered to Jyotirlinga.
“It would provide job opportunities to local women and make them self-dependent,” he added.
Agarbattis are being made from Belpatra and flowers offered to Baba Baidyanath in Deoghar on a large scale.
The DC also assessed the security arrangement at the temple and directed for maintaining hygienic conditions around the campus on a priority basis. He also sought cooperation from people of all walks of life in making the Babadham temple area thermocol and plastic-free so that the beautification of the temple could be maintained.
